A Powerflush is a cleansing process which aims to remove deposits of sludge, rust and any other debris from your central heating system. These contaminants, if left, can seriously affect the efficiency of a heating system and in severe cases a Powerflush is the only option available.

When do I need a Powerflush?

If your system is suffering from any of the following problems a Powerflush would be a suitable option: Central heating system slow to warm up, radiators cold or partially cold, Boiler making strange noises, radiators making knocking noises, repeated pump failures, water discoloured in radiators & when replacing the boiler it is recommended that a Powerflush is done.

How we conduct a Powerflush?

1.Connect the Powerflush machine and magnetic filter the central heating system by removing a radiator or removing the central heating pump.

2.Power flush machine set up so water flows from the radiators to Magnet filter, collecting all the iron oxide sludge, before reaching the boiler to minimise debris entering boiler heat exchanger.

3.Rust Removal chemicals are added and the boiler is then turned on. The radiator temperature will be measured using an infra red thermometer.

4.Machine used to disrupt and vibrate radiators so that remaining bits of rust are removed.

5.Heating coils and all pipe work are power flushed with clean water until water samples tested using electronic TDS (cleanliness) and pH Meters show clean and neutral readings.

6.Small amount of Neutraliser is added to compensate for residual chemical cleaner, then Rust Inhibitor is added and circulated throughout the system.

7.The Power flush machine is removed and central heating system reinstated. Heating is turned on and the radiators are balanced to optimise system efficiency.
